Usha has home based Jewelry workshops in Delhi and neighbouring states. These workshops create opportunities for economically disadvantaged producers with transparency and accountability. Both, male and female producers are engaged in producing socially responsible fairly covered ethical fashion jewelry for the mainstream world market. No child / bonded / labour is involved in production of any merchandise, at any stage of making at any of the workshop.
All the children of engaged producing craft-persons go to school. The workshops are clean, have clean water to drink, clean toilets and do not use any hazardous chemicals ensuring the workshop is environment friendly.
Exotically handcrafted soapstone fair trade handicrafts are produced at the Model Soapstone Workshop “AGRA BAZAAR”, for which Gorara and Palewa stones are procured from the clean mines situated in Central India and Rajasthan. The Model Soapstone Workshop is equipped with a unique underground dust sucking chamber, the only one of its kind in soapstone industry that makes it a unique eco-friendly workshop in an otherwise hazardous world. An all adult group of master artisans and craftsmen produce these excellent handcrafted figurines, aroma lamps, diffusers, T-Light holders, candle stands, photo frames, mirrors, jars, cruet sets, bowls, plates, planters, vases, bath accessories, bookends, games and other objects of d’art are handcrafted by the most needy artisans.
LAC, WOOD, IRON & HORN
Our producers at Usha produce various fair trade home decor, fashion and wellness products out of lac, wood, iron and horn. Lac, wood and horn is used for many purposes, however, in the line of handicrafts, it is majorly used in producing jewelry. Earrings, bangles, necklaces and jewelry boxes, etc. are produced in lac, wood and horn. Many other fair trade products like pen, pen stand, coasters, ashtrays, napkin holders, mirrors, keychains, photoframes, etc. are also produced out of these materials.
Our organization is engaged in providing a fascinating range of cotton, viscose, chiffon, silk, velvet, brasso, burnout, polyamide, polyester, georgette ,woven, printed scarves, shawls and stoles with a variety of designs and colors. All this fair trade merchandise is available in different
shapes with rolled, hemmed or tasseled edges. Scarfs and stoles in different sizes are made as per buyer’s requirements. Beautiful embroidered and other kinds of handiwork shawls and fair trade stoles are also produced by these artisans.
